TABLE LIGHTER
Blending timeless aesthetics with modern functionality, this vintage-inspired table lighter reimagines a classic accessory for contemporary use. In collaboration with Warmth Lighters, Platform Product Design led the industrial design, mechanical engineering, and prototyping efforts, with a focus on creating a refined & functional product that captures the character of traditional table lighters from the 1960’s. Through thoughtful design and engineering, the team developed a solution that balances visual appeal, usability, and manufacturability. The result is a distinctive product that combines nostalgic charm with modern precision.
Various vintage lighters were collected and studied. All lighters use liquid butane as the fuel, but utilize many different mechanisms and assembly methods that we needed to understand fully before designing our own.
